ARTIST BIOGRAPHY
Charmaine Lyons is a multidisciplinary artist working across photography and ceramics. She has a particular interest in portraiture and is drawn to creating work that explores feminist and environmental concepts. Her solo exhibition, Women United, at Gympie Regional Gallery included 200 portraits of women, reflecting her commitment to social justice and elevating the voice of women.

‘repeating gestures of becoming’, Lyons current work, explores through 700 free formed clay pears the intuitive and potent essence of the female self, as viewed through the tale, "The Handless Maiden".
